Every November there is a Cayuco Clinic at the Playita on Amador Causeway. This clinic is mandatory for new participants and at the same time serves to reinforce and to expand knowledge upon the sport. The participants of the clinic receive instruction on:
- The safety regulations of the Cayucos
- The safety regulations of the trailers
- The responsibilities of each member of a team
- The maintenance of the cayucos
