According to Wikipedia:
"A rudder is a device used to steer ships, boats, submarines, aircraft, hovercraft or other conveyances that move through air or water."
Indeed, rudders are devices usually installed at the stern of the cayuco, and help to control the direction of the cayuco without the need of special strokes from the steer position. These devices are usually controlled by foot through pedals from one (any) position in the boat.
According to CREBA's Book of Rules, rudders are only allowed for cayucos competing in the Open Category.
