69
From CayucoPedia
- aka. Buoy 69
- sp. Boya 69
Also known as "69" among cayuco paddlers, the term usually refers as the stretch between the Panama Canal Buoys No. 69 and the Buoy 93 (Located right in front of ACP's Dredging Division in Gamboa). This is the last section of the second stretch of the Ocean to Ocean Race, The Gatun Lake.
Hence, the phrase "To do a 69" refers to paddle all the way and back to Buoy 69 from one of the Gamboa boat ramps.

- A big difference of this Panama Canal buoy from other Panama Canal buoys is that 69 doesn't float. It rests over a concrete basement.
