Uploading images

The Easy Steps

  • Upload a file here.
  • Displaying the file in an article: After uploading the image you can insert it in your articles with: 
[[image:YOUR FILE NAME.jpg|right|thumb|300px|YOUR PICTURE COMMENTS]]
  • The fancy stuff: Supposing that you uploaded an image file named Actionstarts.jpg, to insert this file in your article you can insert in your text either of the following codes: 
[[image:Actionstarts.jpg|right|thumb|300px|Width of 300 pixels, aligned to the right]]

[[image:Actionstarts.jpg|center|thumb|100px|Width of 100 pixels, aligned in the middle]]
{{clr}}
[image:Actionstarts.jpg|left|thumb|500px|Width of 500 pixels, aligned to the left]]

This code displays:

Width of 300 pixels, aligned to the right
Enlarge
Width of 300 pixels, aligned to the right


Width of 100 pixels, aligned in the middle

Inserting links to other Cayucopedia Articles.

You can insert links within other CayucoPedia articles by:

  • Writing the already created article title within double brackets:

[[Nissan Ocean to Ocean Cayuco Race]]
This will appear in your regular text as Nissan Ocean to Ocean Cayuco Race.
Notice that links to articles are Case sensitive.

  • Writing an alias for the already existing article.

For instance: [[Nissan Ocean to Ocean Cayuco Race|Ocean to Ocean]]
Will still link to the Nissan Ocean to Ocean Cayuco Race article but will appear in your regular wiki text as Ocean to Ocean.
This option is useful when you would like to insert a link into a paragraph but you don't want to type down the title of the article with the Capital letters or when you want to refer to the article in a way that makes sense in the paragraph.

Inserting links to Wikipedia and to other Wiki Projects

You can insert links WikiPedia articles by:

  • Writing the Wikipedia article title within double brackets and adding the wp: preffix:

[[wp:Panama Canal]]
This will appear in your regular text as wp:Panama Canal.
Notice that links to articles are Case sensitive.

  • Writing an alias for the already existing article.

For instance you can write:
[[wp:Panama Canal|]]
To get rid of the wp: preffix while still linking to the wikipedia article. The link will appear in your regular wiki text as Panama Canal.
You can also add an alias to the link by writing an alternative name after the pipe symbol. For instance:
[[wp:Panama Canal|The Atlantic to Pacific Panama Canal]]
Will be read in your regular Wiki text as The Atlantic to Pacific Panama Canal but still will link to the Panama Canal Wikipedia article.

  • Insert {{clr}} after the text that is right after an image tag, to end inline text on the sides of that image. For instance:

The {{Refneeded}} Template

  • Insert:
{{Refneeded}}
  THE INFORMATION YOU ARE REQUESTING

(notice the two spaces before "THE INFORMATION ...") To request contributions in a section of an article. This should be placed right below the title of the section:

Accurate information is needed to complete this section.

Fonts Formatting

Creating & Editing Articles.

  • In order to make changes or to add articles, you have to be logged with a valid CayucoPedia account. You can easily create an account or log in here: Special:Userlogin.
  • To edit or add information about a term, just click on any of the term links bellow and press on the edit links that appear in the term's Page.
  • To add a new term or article to CayucoPedia, please carefully execute the following steps: 
* Depending on the article you want to create you should open in a 
 new window one of the following links:

1 Cayuco Sample Page: If you want to create a new Cayuco Boat 
 Page.

1 Term Sample Page: If you want to create a new article to define a     
 new term.

1 Location Sample Page: If you want to create a new article to 
 describe an important Cayuco Race Location.

1 Location (Practice Stretch) Sample Page: If you want to create a 
 new article to describe a Cayuco Race Practice Stretch.

* Press the "Edit" Tab on top of the page.
* Copy all the text in the edition window.
* Write the name of the term you would like to add in the search box 
 that is located to the left of that window.
* You will receive the following message:

There is no page titled:"THE NAME OF YOUR TERM". You can create this 
 page

* Click on "create this page". A new page should open with an empty 
 space for text editing.
* Paste the text you copied on the third step on this empty space.
* Make the appropiate changes to the pasted text. When you are done 
 editing, press the "Save Page" button on the bottom of the page.
